PaloAlto and LayerX - two companies worth listening to - have published reports which list the humble and ubiquitous web browser as an emerging threat to CyberSecurity. The reason our web browser has earned this tag is a little oblique - it's not because they are installed on every device you can image (including your smart fridge) but because it's replacing installed applications. Our Online training is web based. The ChromeBook dream (or was that Nightmare?) is web for everything and it's coming true. We now have to extend security controls into the web browser session and that takes a little more ... well ... control!
